1.To gain confidence before attending group classes for the first time

We get it, doing something new can feel a bit awkward and scary sometimes. Many students choose to book 1-2 private yoga lessons at the start of their yoga journey to help them feel confident walking into the yoga room. Your teacher will expertly guide you through an introduction to the most common yoga poses, and how to adapt them to your body. You’ll also learn common yoga terms, and get your bearings at the studio so your confident you know your updog from your downdog.

2. To learn how to adapt the practice after an injury, illness or during pregnancy

Yoga is a life long practice that will adapt and change with you throughout the various seasons of your life, but sometimes it’s nice to have some guidance along the way. If you’re working with an injury, have had time away from the practice due to illness or are pregnant, booking a private session can help you learn how to change your practice so you still get all the benefits while respecting the body you’re in. Please note; we recommend yoga from the second trimester onwards, and it’s best to get your doctor or health professionals recommendation to practice yoga after an injury or illness.

3. To deepen your practice beyond what you’ll find in a group class

At some point in your yoga practice, you might find yourself curious about some of the other elements of yoga, like more advanced pranayama, meditation, or philosophy. Your teacher can help guide your curiosity and share practices with you that we don’t always have time for in a group setting. These sessions can also help you work on particular poses that are more complex, like wheel, crow, headstand etc. tailored specifically to your body.

4.To mark a special moment with a loved one

If you’d like to organise something special for a friend or family member, why not book a semi-private session. These sessions can be tailored to create a particular result, (i.e. deep relaxation, a full body stretch etc.) and can accommodate up to three students at a time. We’ve found that students love to book these sessions for mothers day gifts, birthday presents, anniversaries, or any time you’d like to create a deeper bond and share a special experience together.

5. To “check in” with your teacher

If you love attending a particular teachers group class, booking a private session with them is a great way to have them check in on your alignment, ask questions, or dig deeper into any of the specific aspects of your practice. If you’re wondering “am I doing this right” or if your teacher is always teaching a pose that stumps you, book in a session and figure out your next steps to making progress on the path.
